Heini Conditorei Löwenplatz in Lucerne

"After lots of walking around Luzern, we happened to find Heini, which actually has more than one location in the city. It turned out to be the perfect spot to take a break. It’s a really cozy, local Swiss coffee shop where people were just relaxing, reading their papers, and enjoying their coffee. The atmosphere felt super authentic, and the coffee and pastries hit the spot. Definitely worth stopping by if you want to experience a laid-back, local vibe in Luzern. Highly recommended"

"I am often at Heini and love their food and ice-creme, this one time i was disappointed because my cafe freddo seemed to be with spoiled milk (it was very hot that day), after I send a mail of complaint I first received a responds from Mr Heini himself and some days later I was send this letter & voucher. "Had their chocolate cake on a ferry and absolutely loved it. Came back to their outlet to try their other cakes (the one with 14% alcohol & another that tastes like ladyfinger biscuit with strawberry and cream)- they’re not bad either. Would try the other cakes and pastries if I had the chance!"

It seems one needs to view and select and buy one's tasty treat at the counter before then taking a seat at a table to be served by a waitstaff for your beverage? Anyway, the treats looked delicious and the coffee was good!"

"Had this delicious tarte(pie?) twice in the same day at two different Heini outlets in Lucerne. We were visiting the city. The staff were very busy but efficient and we felt welcomed. At the outlet near UBS, we wanted to buy only dark chocolates and the lady in charge took the trouble to repackage a box of wholly dark chocolates for us. What’s not to like ?"

"We found a cozy cafe after our early morning visit to the Lion of Lucerne and stopped in for breakfast. They have a great selection of bakery items and cakes. The staff are friendly and gave us good recommendations on their bestsellers. It's worth noting that the drinks and bakery items are from two different shops: you need to pay for the food first upon selecting from the counter, while drinks are ordered and paid for at the table. Their hot chocolate is excellent, and my kids loved it, especially on a cold winter morning. The place can get very busy during breakfast hours with many local diners, so it's not the best spot for a long breakfast chat."
